Merry Christmas!

I'd like to take a moment to post my wish for you and that is to have a Very Merry Christmas...it's so important at this time to remember the reason for the season...

Luke 2: 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 "Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

this message and act of love is one that gives hope to all mankind...without prejudice, to all who will accept the Lord Jesus Christ...I send warm greetings to one and all and hope you will enjoy the love and comfort that makes this the best holiday season second only to Easter.

Some new canvases....

I've been working on some new canvases for my Etsy shop...and FINALLY got them done...here's the first 3....

this one was my inspiration...it is in my favorite color PINK!!! I just love the little bits of ribbon and lace and the grungy rusty hanger and nails that give it extra bit of texture...I'm loving the little vintage pink flowers and the little green paper flowers they're kinda chartruese or light lime....yummy!!! I'm really enjoying this one in my living room! but I hope it will find a good home!

This one was fun because the little whimsical girl (from a Paper Whimsy collage sheet) has THE Biggest eyes!!! adorable...and the lace and the gorgeous!!! ribbons are just ooo la la!!!
I had to add something to the lace as it's sooo fine you might not notice it...so I added the little butterflies to bring your eye down to the lace to see just how gossamer looking it is....offsets those big baby blues of this darlin'...perfectly!!! and the rusty wire hanger and rusty nails...the grunge to contrast the frou frou of the rest of the piece....I just know this sweetie will find a home quickly!!!

and this little miss has Attitude (notice the capital A).... When she says Believe in Your Dreams....you better listen...hehehehhehe!!! I used my chalks and some copic markers and my white pen...to give her dress some zip...and I love these new peachy orange roses with the green paper flowers that pick up the colors in the vintage lace trim on the bottom....what texture...and the ribbons...yummo....and then top it off with the rusty hanger and rusty nails...just a fabulous piece full of cheer!!! I just got them up on Etsy....so...run on over and check them out...I have more side pics and detail shots on Etsy...

hope you'll check them out and let me know what you think!...

Nestled.....

This is the piece that I made at the ZNE Convenzione. My teacher was a magnificent artist that I admire personally and artistically JoAnnA Pierrotti of Moss Hill Studio...I had a couple of adjustments to make (in particular adding the second loop in the chain and moving the egg from the middle to the side) and then it seemed to take forever to get the time to take the picture and post it... I LOVE it...and hope you do to!!!

THANK you JoAnnA and I highly recommend that if you have a chance to take a class from JoAnnA that you do...she's a great teacher....if you're on the East Coast she's going to be teaching in Conneticut I believe in October ...check out her teaching schedule and she's also scheduled to teach at next year's ZNE Convenzione which is scheduled for April 2009 in Pleasanton....I know I will be there!!!

Ties That Bind...

a group of artists bound together by art and the desire to create a collabortive art doll to help raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research. I was invited about 2 months ago to create a charm to adorn the wire form that makes up the Art Doll. Here is that charm.... I have Faith that

together we can help to find a cure to this terrible disease and I pray that it is found soon.
